It’s still all about Relationship, not Religion
Wow, what are year it’s been. As we close out this epic / crazy year called 2020, I can’t help but look forward to 2021 with great anticipation. I also reflect back on this past year and can truly say, God has been so faithful through it all. In all my years of ministry, I have not seen anything quite like what I have seen in the last 9 months. This has been my continual teaching points and also my part of my core belief system, that the church is not a building, church is not a construct. Simply out, the Church, is a group of believers that follow Jesus and His teachings. This lockdown / shut down has been something that I have truly longed for. Music has faded, the programs have halted, people have been locked out of “Church” but not locked out from God! It seems weird to say, but believers everywhere have had such a wonderful opportunity to get closer to God and grow that relationship more than ever before in their life.
My firm belief is that, people need to be in relationship with Jesus. Sometimes the “Church” hurts that relationship. Unfortunately, there is drama and trauma that arise in too many churches and it hinders the work of God in believers lives. These last several months have catapulted believers all across the world into a meaningful, deeper relationship with Jesus and that is exactly what the “Doctor” (Great Physician) ordered.
