Friends with Job

• It’s been said, “You are who your friends are”
• They also say, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you who you are” or “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future”.

• Jordan Peterson says “if your friends are not on the side of what’s good for you, then walk away”.

Job had 3 Friends who journeyed with him through his ups and downs, he had many downs in his lifetime. Jobs friends’ names are Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar in Job 2:11-13 they just sat with him. The next few points show some qualities taken from Job, qualities we should all have in our friends.

• 1 – Good Friends: Be there / Sit with you

Eliphaz in Job 4:6-8

• 2 – Good Friends: Ask good questions

Eliphaz in Job 5:9-18

• 3- Good Friends Encourage you / Prophecy over you
• Remind you of the good things God has done

Bildad in Job 8:20-21

• 4 – Good Friends speak life over you.

Let me encourage you to find friends who do just that, encourage you. Find friends who speak life over you, friends who ask good questions, and lastly, friends who can just sit with you when you need friends to just sit there with you.
