For the Greater Good
This past month of April we celebrated Humberlea’s 55th Anniversary. Wow, what a milestone! Oh how I would have loved to have celebrated in-person, with the entire Humberlea Family. But, we were not able to do that, again. So for now, we obey the local government, even if we don’t agree with it. We will continue to trust God and we know that He has it all in His very capable hands.
It’s been over 14 long months now of back and forth legislation, new rules, stay-at-home lockdown. We were allowed 50 people in Church, then 30% of our capacity, then 15% of our capacity, now we are only allowed 10 people. Ugh! It’s been so frustrating for all of us, but we must stay the course. We must stay focused through it all and keep our eyes on Jesus and all that God has for us, both as individuals and as a corporate body. We must all remember that the Church at 6807 Steeles Avenue, is just a building. We have been forced to de-centralize the body of Christ and we have been captivated by the Presence of God every time we gather together online.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the phrase, “For the greater good.” This phrase comes to my heart during all of this. We have had to set aside our opinions and preferences, we have had to sacrifice many things we were very comfortable with, in our daily lives. Earlier on, I heard so many people say, “I don’t know anyone who has had Covid.” and I also heard, “this whole thing is a hoax.” We ourselves, when this first started, stated that this was going to be just like the annual Flu. Personally, I really don’t think very many people can say that anymore. We’ve seen hospitals over-run, we’ve seen ICU’s at capacity and even worse yet, we now likely know someone that has lost their battle with Covid. I personally need more than 2 hands to count all the friends, loved ones and acquaintances that have passed away due to Covid or from complications from Covid.
BUT!
We will stay the course, for the greater good!
We will stay strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might.
We will continue to pray for the body of Christ in the midst of every storm.
We will keep our eyes on Jesus.
We will continue to be upheld by the Mighty Right Hand of God while we travel through all of this chaos here on this earth.
God bless you and may God keep you in His perfect peace, while we stay strong, for the Greater Good.
